Description
This fine mantel clock is a beautiful, richly decorated clock in the style of the French 18th century Louis XVI period. The bronze case is gold-plated and has an imposing shape with detailed ornaments.
At the top of the mantel clock is a sculpture of a cherub resting on a decorative base element. The clock is further decorated with hand-painted porcelain miniatures, including portraits on the sides and a romantic scene with cherubs under the dial. The dial itself has a classic white background with blue Roman numerals and elegant gold-plated hands.
The back of the clock shows the clock mechanism, indicating that this is an original French mantel clock, with a 19th century Parisian movement.
The clock is overall in very good condition.
